The Hours

I recently saw the film "The Hours." It was very good. The  Hours tells the story of three women who all are living lives they are not extremely happy with. It shows the lives of all three women, Virgina Woolf, Clarissa Vaughn, and Laura Brown. It was a beautiful film to watch and the acting was very good. Nichole Kidman is wonderful! You can barely tell it is her!! I highly recommend the film to anyone who wants to see a great bit of filmmaking!
It was very very good!

Spirit Week

This past week was "spirit week" at school. Spirit week is a week where the four classes in high school compete in a series of events. There were athletic things like obstacle course to creative things like teacher impersonations.
On Monday, we had obstacle course, tug o war, balloon toss, and spoon carry. We came in forth
in obstacle course, balloon toss, and tug o war. In spoon carry, which is where you carry water from one bucket to another with a spoon, we came in third!
On Tuesday, we had softball throw and teacher impersonations. We lost soft ball throw. Teacher
impersonations was really fun! There were six of us in the skit. Wyatt, who played Corby (the drama teacher), Alison who played Dana (the eurythmy teacher), Rory who played Mr. Bluske (the orchestra teacher), My who played Karen Grant (the english teacher), Joey who played Mark (the other drama teacher), and I played Ms. Vrudney (the golf teacher). Our skit took place in a drama workshop taught be Joey and Wyatt. It was really really fun to do!! In the end, we won first place for it which was really great.
On Wednesday we had football throw, jump rope and costumes. We came in forth in foot ball and second in jump rope. Our costume theme was a paint set. People had their hair gelled up as brushes, some wore all whit and were the canvas, and the rest curled up as blobs of paint. We lost. It was really sad!
Thursday we had javelin and Quiz Bowl. We came in forth for javelin.
Quiz Bowl is just like Jeopardy! It was really hard. The four who answered for our class, were Claudia, Dillon, Jess, and me. We lost by -2100. It was pretty embarrassing!
Friday we had Lip Sync, which is the biggest event of the week! Our lip sync idea was "the seven stages of grief" but since we came up with it the night before, we weren't really prepared. We lost miserably! The other classes were amazing!! Tenth grade was the "very hungry caterpillar", eleventh grade
was a toy chest and twelfth grade was the news. They were all really good. Eleventh grade won spirit week, tenth came in second, twelfth was third and we were forth!
Over all it was really fun, but really stressful!

Juno

I saw Juno last night with my friend Ventana. I had heard good things about it and I had been wanting to see it. Everyone has been talking about it. All my friends had already seen it, and now I know why they liked it so much! It was good! Juno tells the story of 16 year-old Juno MacGuff who gets pregnant, and must find the perfect family for her future baby. Ellen Page who played Juno, was very very good! I can see why she was nominated for best actress. The writing was very good. It was funny and rather like "Little Miss Sunshine." In all it was a good film that left me in a good mood!

Daddy Daughter Dance

A weeks ago our class held the Daddy Daughter Dance at school. We made the Eurythmy room really pretty, and we all brought desserts. It was really fun seeing all the younger girls and their dads dancing. They were so cute! Elizabeth and I sat by the entrance and signed people in. Then they received a flower bracelet, and went to have their picture taken by dad. After signing everyone in, I went to serve food with Alison. Their were cookies, cakes, cupcakes and so many other dessert like things. It was really fun! I even danced a little, which is a really surprising for me. I think everyone had a really good time!

All About Elizabeth

This year at school, I have a bunch of friends, some old, some new. Although she is new to the school, I have known Elizabeth since I was in second grade through my friend Ventana. Elizabeth and I are known as "giggle twins" in school, mainly because we never stop laughing. It is not unusual to see the two of us running around like mad men, laughing our heads off. We are the loudest in math, and yet we always finish the work before everyone else. If I'm ever having a hard time, I know Elizabeth will be there to help me work through it. Whether it's a difficult math problem, or just an emotional crisis, she is always there for me.

It was her birthday on February 7th, and when I heard some of the people in my class were throwing her a surprise party, I was really excited. After school on February 8th Alison, My, Rebecca, and I went with Brenan to the party. It was at Buca de Beppo in Valencia. We all, that is Jess, Oscar, Alison, My, Rebecca, Brenan and I, hid under the table
and jumped out when she arrived. It didn't quiet go according
to plan because the table next to us yelled surprise before we did! It was really fun. More people came later, and in all, it was a really great night!

The two of us are two peas in a pod. We are giggle twins, FBI agents, Jane Austen buddies, laughing lunatics, math partners, Lorn and Annabella, and much more. "My dearest-darling- dootle-pop" I love you very much!

Lost

The new season of Lost began on Thursday the 21st. It has been six months since the last episode, and I was super excited for season 4. My friends Rebecca, Brenan and I counted down at school, and I watched the trailer about a hundred times. I had heard that it was going to be a two hour episode, and I was mad when mom and I turned on the TV and found that the first hour was just a recap. In the end, I enjoyed the episode. It wasn't the best one ever, but I still liked it. It looks as though this new season is going to be really interesting! They hinted at a bunch of new things in this episode, from the 'Oceanic 6' to the mysterious new people on the island. I'm really looking forward to next Thursday! If you watched the episode, vote on my poll as to how you liked it.

My Birthday

It was my 15th Birthday today. I had a bunch of my best friends over, Elizabeth, Mary, My and Ventana. I also had a bunch of my family over. My friends and I talked for a while, and also started to film a movie, although it started raining half way through. We also made "kindergarten soup", and we took a bunch of pictures on my computer. My grandma's made really good chocolate cakes, and a cherry pie, and I feel like I'm going to explode I ate so much. It was a really great day! I still can't believe I'm fifteen. I hope that this new year is even better then last year.

The Mouse That Roared

I've been taking drama as my art elective in school, and last weekend we preformed our play "The Mouse That Roared." I had been really worried that we would not have it done in time, but it ended up turning out really good. We had a show on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. The two night shows were the best, but they were all good. The Mouse That Roared is the story of a tiny Europeain country called Grand Fenwik who decided to go to war with the United States over wine. It is a comedy that deals with a 22 year old Duchess, the President, a woodsman and many more unique characters. My and I played two army girls, Jill and Debbie, who are captured by Grand Fenwik. We had to wear high skirts, and paint our feet purple! I had a lot of fun. The cast was amazing to be around, especially on "Tec-Week" when we had to stay at school till nine every night. I made a lot of friends in other grades, which was great because the high school classes don't mix very much. It was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to doing the musical next year!

Atonement

Ever since it came out, I've been eagerly awaiting the day when I could see Atonement. I finally did, and I can tell you, it was well worth the wait! It was absolutely amazing! Atonement tells the story of 13 year old Briony Tallis, who accuses her sisters lover of a crime he did not commit. Once she realizes her mistake, Briony must seek forgiveness for her childhood misunderstanding, causing her to lead a life of atonement. The film was beautifully shot and directed which made it very nice to watch. The lovely English setting also contibuted to the brillence of the film. The acting was also amazing! James McAvoy and Keria Knightly worked so well together, they playe their roles perfectly. Saoirse Ronan was also amazing. She was perfect as the role and young Briony. You really felt compassion for her throughout the whole film. Romola Garai and Vanessa Redgrave were also very good! In all it was an absolutely wonderful film. I highly recommend it! It is one of my favorite films! I loved it!

Lost Puzzle

For Christmas I received a 'Lost' puzzle. Mom and I were so excited to put it together, when we realized that there was no picture of what the puzzle looked like on the box. We printed it out, and then began to put together the puzzle that took three days to complete! Mom, Greg, Dad and I worked very hard to put it together. Once complete I brought it into my room at night and de-coded the secret glow-in-the-dark message on the back! It was a piece of a map of the island. It has writing and drawings that can give you clues to the Dharma Initiative. It was the 2nd out of 4 puzzles and we are all eager to get the next one to put together!
