Our Town

Every senior class puts on a play the night before graduation. Recently it seems to have become a tradition to do a compilation of scenes instead of an actual play. Yet this year, we decided that a play was the best choice for our class. Although it took a long time to decide, and agree, on a play we eventually choose Our Town. We felt that it conveyed something that we wanted to say and represented our class well.

We had around 4 weeks of actual rehearsals to put the show together, which isn't much time when you think about it. I got the part of Stage Manager #2 (there was a different person playing the Stage Manager for each act). I wasn't very happy at first, but it turned out to be fun none the less. I almost felt responsible for the act. I didn't even really see act 1 or act 3 very much before the final show.

I think we did a great job for the time we had, the resources and the fact that the class isn't all actors. It was a difficult, but fun time.
